Childhood Trauma & Fascial Restriction: A Case Study
At just five years old, Catherine was hit by a car. The trauma significantly impacted her left side, particularly her hip and lower back, creating long-standing structural imbalance, compression, and areas of numbness around scar tissue.
During the immersion, we worked with targeted fascial release techniques to address deep tissue density, compression patterns, and restricted glide within the fascia.
The results?
✔️ Improved alignment
✔️ A sense of spaciousness through the hip and back
✔️ Reduced pressure patterns
✔️ Sensation returning to previously numb scar tissue areas
When fascia becomes dense and “sticky” after trauma, it can place pressure on delicate nerve structures and alter biomechanics for years — even decades. By gently restoring glide, hydration, and tissue mobility, we often see remarkable changes in both structure and sensation.
This case highlights the long-term impact of childhood trauma on the fascial system — and what can shift when we address it directly.
